Where this data comes from
Registration status and election participation come from official state voter files — the same public records campaigns, journalists, and researchers use. States publish whether a registered voter participated in an election; they never record who anyone voted for. Ballots are secret.
What we hold vs. what we show
Voter files contain more than we will ever display. Search results are limited by design to:
- Name as registered
- Age range (never a birth date)
- City and state (never a street address)
- Registration status
- Participation record for recent federal elections
Street addresses, phone numbers, emails, birth dates, party registration, and district details are structurally excluded from what this site can display.
Freshness
States release voter file updates on their own schedules, typically monthly. Recent registrations or address changes may not appear yet.
